The challenging expert slopes of Mad River Glen's terrain, in conjunction with its legendary annual 250 inches of snowfall, makes this a premiere snow destination for skiers. Snowboarding is not permitted at Mad River Glen. The resort's extensive trail system, diverse beginner and intermediate trails in addition to a single base departure point makes this an attractive ski area.

Eighteen percent of the runs at Sugarbush are rated as 'beginner,' 39% are rated as 'intermediate' and, for those who enjoy a challenge, 43% are designated as'expert.'
